CRAVOT E2 vs E2 Plus Classic vs S2: Which Bike Rack Should You Choose?
Start with your bikes’ combined transport weight, then compare tilt and ramp features. E2 is a starting point for loads up to 200 lb when you do not need a tilting rack. E2 Plus Classic adds tilt and a foldable ramp within the same 200 lb combined limit. S2 is the option to evaluate when your two bikes exceed 200 lb but stay within 300 lb. Every choice still depends on bike fit and the vehicle and hitch limits.

Choose by your actual riding setup
Consider E2 when you need a ramp and do not need tilt
If your two bikes total no more than 200 lb, E2 is worth checking first. It includes a loading ramp, so choosing Plus or S2 is not necessary simply to get a ramp. Check the current price, bike fit and the installation instructions for your specific E2.
Consider E2 Plus Classic when you want tilt and a foldable ramp
Classic keeps the same 200 lb combined bike limit as E2. Its distinction here is the tilt feature and foldable ramp, rather than extra bike-load capacity. Choose Classic — Foldable Ramp on the product page when using this comparison; review Evo separately if that is the version you want.
Consider S2 when you need more combined bike capacity
For two bikes totaling more than 200 lb and no more than 300 lb, E2 and E2 Plus Classic exceed their combined limits. S2 meets that combined-weight check, but it still needs a complete fit assessment. A higher rack rating does not increase your vehicle or hitch rating.
For a load below 200 lb, S2’s larger combined capacity alone does not make it the better choice. Compare the features you will use, current price and your ability to install and handle the rack.
Check these conditions before ordering any of the three
- Weigh the transport setup. Remove the bike batteries as directed by the matching manuals, then include accessories that remain installed. The bikes may have different weights; place the heavier bike closest to the vehicle. Do not interpret the combined rating as a confirmed maximum for one bicycle.
- Measure both bikes. Check wheelbase against the selected version’s specifications and matching manual, along with tire support, strap fit and clearance. Do not choose a model solely from a tire-width number.
- Check permitted frame contact. Step-through, carbon-frame and cargo bikes need individual checks. The bicycle manufacturer must permit the required contact points; a frame category is not blanket approval.
- Check the vehicle and receiver. All three require a 2-inch receiver. Vehicle and hitch limits must cover the rack and bikes. These models are not for RVs or bumper-mounted receivers; adapters, extensions, swing-away attachments and front receivers are not recommended.
